A South Sudan national who allegedly defiled a five-year-old girl will remain in custody until March 17.

Makoy Deer's bail hearing was postponed on Friday after his lawyer failed to report to a Makadara court.


Deer, 30, allegedly committed the offense on March 3 at Embakasi, Nairobi.

He summoned the girl using sign language, the prosecution said, when he was charged with child rape on March 9.


A neighbour reportedly saw him and and urged the girl to tell her parents, who notified the police.
